So what is Genealogy? The dictionary says the direct descent of an individual or group from an ancestor. Put in simpler terms, as far back as you would like to go two people got together and are responsible for you being here today. Who were these people, where did they come from? Some are lucky enough to have many relations going back several generations who have stories to tell and photos to share, but then there are those who have very limited knowledge of their roots. There are those who have been adopted, grown up in orphanages or shipped to another country in the time of war. Everyone has their own story and their own reason to find who they are.
